How to remove "Publisher Not Specified Error" message
Hello, I am trying get rid of the publisher not specified when launching ADOBE PDF Doc from a CD. Can you please tell me how to get this option removed? The autorun.inf is as follows [AutoRun] Open=c:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Acrord32.exe shellexecute="Blah.pdf" icon=SC_Reader.ico label=blah blah.. I removed the actual file names because I am working on some copyrighted material for a client. But in the shellexecute is the actual name of the pdf file and the label contains the actual name of the pdf document. But when it opens the windows dialog box opens up and the user can actually click on the pdf document to launch the doc but right under the pdf doc it says "Publisher not specified". Do you know how to fix this please? Thanks, Calvin Grier, Correct Answer Helpful Answer

This sounds like a certificate problem. It looks like your computer doesn't trust the Certification Authority that has published the certificate that the material was signed with. If you get the prompt you should import the certificate into your certificate store and then you should be ok.

This is simple standard ADOBE pdf that was created from MS-WORD 2010. Do I need to change some settings in my IE browser or something? I am not getting prompted from a certificate authority to install some certs. Do I need to check my IE and see which certs I have installed on my pc? Thanks, Calvin

If you are not getting prompt with certificates then it must be something else. I don't think you need to do any adjustments to your IE. <br> open adobe reader edit - preferences security - uncheck "verify singatures when the document is opened" security - uncheck "enable enhanced security"

Brano, I disabled both security settings and still when the program launches right under the link to run the pdf file it still says "Publisher Not Specified". Any more ideas? If I change those settings do I need to restart my computer so they can register or is it as simple as making the changes, click ok and close out Adobe X and restart the by ejecting and reinserting the CD..
